I think we can finally give Jonathan his highest award ever for restraint. Two years ago, that last post would have been a bile-filled statement that basically amounted to "F*** Y** Silverback". Thanks for the kindness (even if you didn't mean it). :)

Back to the debate. Stepping back a bit, I can see a bit of the fairness issue on the "old player" front. Those on the "it's unfair" side believe they've been earning the right to play high level PCs because they've put up with the months of with failed adventures, AWOL PCs and moderator inconsistencies regarding XP and monetary rewards. And while that's a valid feeling, my contention is why should "player endurance" determine who gets to play high level PCs? Wouldn't it be better if everyone - especially newer players that have quickly shown a great RP ability - could? Wouldn't this provide more fun for everyone one?

As far as the poll options, I didn't contest your choice of options, I just gave my opinion on what I think each results in. I also did add one option ('do it like MPCs') but I guess that could fit in either "Yes/here" choices since GMs can run MPCs in any forum they control. And yes, I do have a 'here or nowhere' favoring but that's only because the "do it elsewhere" is already an option that we don't need permission to pursue. Anyone is free to start a new, high level adventure whenever and whereever they want. I think the better question to answer is should we allow them here, within the CORE greyhawk community, to take advantage of the other benefits that these specific forums bring to bear?

So, go ahead and restart the poll and see what happens. I'd even move it to the Creative Dev Forum and maybe put an announcement on the main page header. But before we do, what constitutes a successful vote either way? If 10 people say no and 10 people say yes/here (which is the current state of this poll as I write), what should happen?
