After Horek tells of his past, stops, then walks on without looking back, a look of pain crosses Kerry's face. Running ahead to catch up with Horek, she keeps his pace for a few mintues before talking, looking to the ground the whole time. When she speaks, her voice is somber..."I know exactly how you feel, Horek...about six days ago, my village was attacked by evil creatures...I was in the town's only library when it happened. My village was peaceful and serene...but sitting in a chair listening to terrified screams, loud crashes, and people crying, I was absolutely petrified...I didn't want to leave the chair...I was so afraid of what was happening..." Kerry begins to tear up, as if on the edge of weeping. "I finally mustered enough courage to get up and open the library doors slightly. That's when I saw him...my father, fighting some nasty monsters, using all the powers he could muster, but breathing his last. He was bloodied and ragged, fending off what he could, but losing quickly. Finally, one monster managed to get his sword through father's defenses, slicing him open and dropping him to his knees. Upon his last breath, he screamed my name, before dropping to the ground, right next to mother. There was nothing I could do...nothing...I was so terrified..." Trying to gather herself despite her emotional state, she wipes the tears from her eyes and continues. "That's when I ran...I ran out the back door of the library, and didn't stop until my legs gave out in udder exhaustion. Through tears and sore limbs, I managed to cast a spell that I had just learned from my father...expeditious retreat. I ran even faster, the world blurring through my teary eyes. That's when I arrived at Mitrik. I was very lucky...two very kind priests took care of me until I was better again."

Kerry then falls silent as she continues to walk beside Horek, feeling better, but far from happy.
