Horek nods silently as Kerry finishes her grim story. Their pasts are quite similar, though the plainsman wonders if the girl feels any guilt at surviving the raid while her parents did not. The barbarian faced the same sort of horrific realization, but the pragmatic plainsman knew in his heart that the outcome was no less than what his parents would have wanted.

For even though they fell to the giants, their son yet lived.

Horek briefly considers telling the fragile-looking girl this, but decides that it is something one must come to understand on one's own terms. So instead the barbarian says nothing, but he slows his pace down somewhat so the smaller elf can keep up with him as they walk toward their destination...

Horek Varshot
Deep bronze skin and the red body paint that decorates the face of this large man combine to mark him as one of true Flannish origin. The plainsman carries a sturdy longbow and a huge sword is strapped tightly to his back. Studded leather armor peeks out from beneath a cloak made from the hide of a large black bear and a necklace decorated with huge claws completes the picture of this fearsome barbarian. The scowl upon his face along with hard, piercing eyes warn you that disturbing this quiet man might be considered foolhardy unless there is good reason.
