As Horek's rage fades, he stares down at the ruined statue for a moment before bracing himself as the cave shudders and jolts disturbingly. When the movement ends, the section of wall disappears, revealing the area just outside of the cave entrance they'd entered only hours before. Though it felt like many weeks had passed to the plainsman.

The sorry figure of Anavren still laid near the tree they'd seen him crawl towards. Horek wondered if he would last long enough to see the Healer's return from wherever he'd been taken. Perhaps the authorities in Mitrik could rescue the Healer with the information they had. Or perhaps not.

Shrugging, the barbarian goes to see what lies in the contents of the chest. As he passes the piles of loot he separated, the plainsman pauses for a moment then takes one of the finely crafted longswords. Though proficient with two-weapon fighting, it has been awhile since he practiced the art. Horek decides that pairing this fine weapon with a smaller handaxe in his other hand will make a good combination. When he finally arrives at the open chest, he tentatively reaches down to touch the ring.

"I have heard of rings that protect the wearer, and those that give feats of strength and agility as well. I would have this, if we can identify it as such. The rest I do not care for. We can sell them to merchants for gold, I guess."

When they pack up their loot, Horek leads the others toward Mitrik, slinging Anavren across the back of the missing Steven's horse.

When they arrive back in town, the plainsman seeks audience with the Canon, telling him all they have learned about the fate of the healer and their accomplishments in the cave. He also describes the statue they destroyed and the dark-skinned humanoids that built it. He also requests that a sage identify the magic items they found within the place.

Let's all put in our claims, hash out the details if needed and then sell the rest for loot. Horek Varshot
Deep bronze skin and the red body paint that decorates the face of this large man combine to mark him as one of true Flannish origin. The plainsman carries a sturdy longbow and a huge sword is strapped tightly to his back. Studded leather armor peeks out from beneath a cloak made from the hide of a large black bear and a necklace decorated with huge claws completes the picture of this fearsome barbarian. The scowl upon his face along with hard, piercing eyes warn you that disturbing this quiet man might be considered foolhardy unless there is good reason.
