Anavren shakes his head sadly at Steven's words and says, "Steven, I would never shoot you or another party member. I've told you time and time again that I spoke in hyperbole to illustrate a point. I've apologized to you once before, and I asked you to forget the whole thing, when Rao commanded us to put aside our differences or fail in our quest, but apparently you either didn't understand or didn't care."

"Let me apologize to you again, Steven, and this time, there will be no spectre that a god prompted the apology. I ask for your undivided attention so you can understand that I am truly sorry my rearksoffended you so. I sincerely and deeply apologize for joking that I would shoot you. I made the remark in jest. I am sorry if you were so deeply offended by my remarks. I did not mean for you to take offense at all. It is my deepest wish that you would forget the whole incident."

After finishing his SECOND apology, Anavren illustrates his tendency to use hyperbole, "Apparently, I speak in hyperbole all too often if you think I verge on blasphemy, Steven. Not only are my words too strong, but you take my meaning too far. Solonor Thelandra is my god and I love Him dearly. I did not mean to insinuate that my skill would surpass that of The Great Archer. However, I do hear The Great Archer's clarion call in my heart to be His greatest servant. While I may have spoken in hyperbole about the heights that are my destiny o achieve, I have shown my servitude to Solonor tirelessly. I pray to Him all the time, I offered to build Him a temple in Mitrik, and I still may. So, no, the temples of Solonor Thelandira will welcome me warmly, Steven. They'll know me for the devout worshiper I am.

"As for being vitriolic, if I recall correctly, I've never insulted anyone with being insulted first. And when I respond to insults aimed my direction, I admit I respond as if it were all out verbal war. It's a defense mechanism. Hopefully, it discourages people from being uncomplimentary about me."

"Last, Steven, I can assure you that you will not be the sole or final arbiter of who receives The Healer's magics. Before The Healer is returned to the Cannon, if the party decides to try to use The Healer, which I would council against, I will be the group, not you alone who decides to use The Healer. Once The Healer is safely in the hands of the Cannon, he will be the arbiter of who uses The Healer. Your threats are idle, Steven. Making idle threats tends to lower your credibility in the eyes of others."
