Wort turns to Arwein, "I'm not sure. Perhaps they were abandoned by a friend when they needed them? It is possible that they lacked anyone who truly cared for them at the time, and when they needed a friend to be there to protect them, there was no such thing. However, I fear for the girl, she is also rather nice, and my friend, what if she falls prey to these evil creatures? What can we do then?"

He smiles, and pats Arwein on the back softly, surprisingly gently for a man his size.. "I was once told by my mentor something to remember when I was afraid, perhaps it will help you, as you seem troubled."

He takes a deep breath to center himself, and then closes his eyes slowly before beginning in a near prayer like voice, "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

At the end, he opens his eyes and smiles softly, "Only you shall remain, the fear and trouble is nothing. You are strong, you are beautiful, and you are kind. Nothing can harm you so long as you have faith, and friends. And I am here to watch your back."
