ooc: Sorry for the confusing post! Tanner was momentarily confused as to who said what. Tanner will ask the questions about the Yaun-ti since he was the one who said he overhead their discussions about the ritual. Also, with a Bardic Knowledge Check, how much does Tanner know about the Yuan-Ti, their origins, their motives, their powers and their (hopefully) weaknesses.

bic: Hearing Glennifar's warning, Tanner steals another glance at the newcomers, and wonders if there's any way he can tell if they are lying or not what they appear. "Glennifar, I don't know any of the spells that you mentioned. But I have learned a spell called Detect Thoughts that might be useful in determining if they are really wha they appear to be. If I were to cast it on them without their knowing, I could read their surface thoughts, and if one of them starts thinking about deceiving us or betraying us, I might be able to detect that. It's a long shot, but it might give us a clue. But if we are about to head back into the Yuan-Ti's lair, we may have more need for that magic once we encounter it and its cohorts. What do you think, Caellen?"

Tanner hopes that between the three of them and their magics, they'll be able to safeguard the party from infiltrators and spies. But if the Yuan-Ti are as powerful as Glennifar described, perhaps even their magics won't be enough to reveal their trickeries. Tanner anxiously, and with a great deal of trepidation, looks forward to learning much more about these creatures and their powers...
