The moment Tyro enters the room he suspects that the woman and her guards seemed all too easy to find. Even the Torture device seem some how all too convient as if it's purpose was solely to create an urgency and make them all rush in like foolish head strong heroes.

"This feels like a trap. Becareful and stay sharp."

The warrior steps forward into the room but does not run even as the blades swing back and forth across the struggling woman's body and even as the gnolls keep their back to him he continues to look for any signs to prove or disprove his gut feeling of a trap about to spring.

Suddenly he remember the side tunnels and also gives them a glance for signs of movement. Could more gnolls be hiding there ready to pounce into action once the party entered? Or was something even more dastardly about to happen?

Tyro moves forward ever watchful for the anvil about to fall on his head.

The anvil in Tyro's post is the retorical anvil, okay? Unless our prey is a roadrunner. Then it will be a cartoon anvil and Tyro will step off of a cliff and not fall until he foolishly looks down. :D

Tyro's feelings are not based on anything but MY gut feeling, so I could do nothing more than pass that feeling along to Tyro. Seen too many traps just like this, I guess, in my 20 odd years of RPGing. And the villians in B movies always trick heroes this way too, don't they.

It could all just be my misinterpretation of GM Crow's idea of a real tension builder before the combat. If so, I could live with that also. :)
