Seeing both friends and foes falling in the battle before him, Tanner is frustrated by his inability to help out in the combat. As he scans the cavern for a possible target for his crossbow, all he can see are fallen foes or ones locked in melee combat with his comrades.

Feeling the power of his own song flowing through him, his impulse is to dive into the fray himself and strike a blow for the party. But a quieter, wiser part of his brain reminds himself that combat is not his forte, and it would be wiser for him to act with caution. But seeing Tyro fall spurs him closer to the action.

Tanner will move towards the remaining combat with his crossbow raised. If he can take a shot at the Gnoll leader without endangering the others, he will. If he sees any other foes enter the cavern, he'll fire at them. If not, he'll continue to move towards to Caellen and Tyro to cover them and assist if possible. If the gnoll leader moves towards Caellen as he works on Tyro, Tanner will protect the cleric and the fallen warrior as best he can.

And all the while, his clear voice resonates through the cavern with the melodies of the battle and courage...
A tall, gangly human youth looks at you, his questioning green eyes filled with the energy and enthusiasm of youth. Clad in a fine chain shirt with a buckler emblazoned with crossed lute and sword, he wears an Elven rapier at his side and a rustic lute over his shoulder.
