Running further and further into the darkness of the forest, the image of the Dragon's eyes begins to fade from Tanner's mind and he slowly regains control of his legs. Stopping and panting as he catches his breath, he looks around to see where he ended up. All around the darkness of the forest is almost complete. But through the forest he hears the sounds of Gnolls screaming and charging. "Gnolls I can deal with," he thinks to himself with a sigh of relief.

However, not remembering seeing any Gnolls before he ran, Tanner realizes that he has no idea which side of these new attackers he is on. Turning back towards where he remembered the campsite to be, Tanner will quietly and carefully move back towards the campsite, keeping an eye out for Gnolls or other enemies.

As he moves, he wonders how a group of Gnolls could be in league with a Black Dragon. Wondering if perhaps there was more to this attack that just Gnolls in ambush, Tanner will keep a sharp ear and eye out for other creatures other than Gnolls that might be part of the group. Hoping that none of the Gnolls saw him run, Tanner plans to use his cover to disrupt the Gnolls' attack as soon as he can figure out what's going on.
