[Before the Watches]

Ryli looked up at the mage from her spot on the ground where she was eating, green eyes studying the man for a few moments. She chewed thoughtfully on her current bite, then motioned for him to take a seat.

"First of all, I'd prefer not to be addressed as Ranger Sohquil. The humans are rubbing off on me. Please, just call me Ryli--or at least Ryliranna. It might be pleasant to hear it off of a tongue that doesn't stumble over ever syllable." She gave the fellow elf an affable smile.

"To your question... Most importantly, I'd suggest that you take orders from him because he is your captain while on this job. You wouldn't want to lose any of those splendid crowns we just received. Tyro's a very fair man, Glennifar. If you have a concern, then he'd want you to go and talk to him about it. He'll always listen--unless there's something urgent happening, of course--and he'll only turn down your idea if he honestly thinks that it's not beneficial."

Ryli traced her slender fingers over her leg, eyes turned down. It wasn't that she was a slow thinker, but oftentimes she had so many thoughts racing through her mind that she had to pause to organize them.

"I met him in a little village of our people, when he, Tanner, and Blade were still on their first expedition for Charboyya. I knew Blade from a little journey of his that he was on when he first became a paladin. At that time, I had just been wandering around for a little while; I had needed a break at first, but by that time, I was getting a little bored. Tyro and crew were running a little low on numbers, so I decided to ask if I could join them. They said yes. Kain met them the same way.

"Even if he weren't the official leader, I'd still take orders from him. I might not always obey them, but I usually would. He respects us, and I have a lot of respect for him. He's got a lot of wit, but he hasn't lost his farmboy morals. He really is a good man. I think you'll find that it won't take too long before you start listening to him because you want to and not just because it's in the job description."
